Modern physical security of organisations
Contactless functionality in smart cards and the ProID mobile app to cover physical identity scenarios.
What is Physical Access Control?
Physical Access Control System (PACS ) is becoming an integral part of every modern organization. It is a set of tools and processes that restrict physical access to internal areas or restricted parts of an organisation. The aim is to ensure that people, property and sensitive information are protected from unauthorised persons, while monitoring who has entered or left the area and when. Advanced tools such as electronic locks, smart cards and contactless mobile applications are used to ensure this.
The implementation of Physical Access Control mechanisms is directly required by a number of industry standards and legislation. Currently, for example, the NIS2 directive, the Cybersecurity Act, the TISAX standard or ISO 27001.
Logical and physical security in one platform
ProID is a unique solution that combines Logical Access Control and Physical Access Control in one comprehensive platform. This means that it enables efficient management of access rights for digital systems and data as well as physical access to secure areas. With this integration, ProID offers a comprehensive and secure solution that makes access management easy and simplifies compliance with internal security policies.
ProID offers smart cards, mobile applications and support modules that can be used as tools for unlocking electronic locks and other door systems (turnstiles, elevators…).
- Mobile applications for end users and emlpoyees
- Portal for management and activation of individual devices
- Easy integration with the organisation’s systems
Supported standards and manufacturers
ProID integrates the standards and communication protocols of several major manufacturers of door systems and locks. This makes it easy to deploy within your organisation.
ProID Mobile – Smartphone with smart card function
The ProID Mobile app has an integrated extension for contactless functionality, making it a security tool with a wide range of application scenarios. The smartphone thus acts as a multifunctional device that serves as an access key to the organization’s premises as well as to internal systems and applications.
In addition, mobile authentication can be seamlessly integrated into other business processes. This facilitates the implementation of a unified access management system. The availability and scalability of this service is ensured through a secure, high-performance cloud architecture. However, the entire system can also be deployed in an on-premise environment or in a hybrid cloud depending on the specific needs of the organization.
Comprehensive solution for physical access control
ProID uses PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) technology based on digital certificates and root CAs. This solution provides high security and the ability to be used for other employee scenarios – authentication to corporate systems or electronic signatures.
Smart Card Access Control
Use of hybrid smart cards with contact and contactless function. Possibility of printing and adding an electronic signature or multi-factor authentication to the card.
Mobile Access Control
Using the ProID mobile app for Android and iOS. Includes multi-factor authentication and employee e-signature.
ProID Portal
Web interface for managing and activating tools and digital certificates. Available for both regular users and administrators (multitenant).
On-premise or cloud
Can be installed within the organisation’s infrastructure or as a cloud service (SaaS). Island mode is also possible for premises with increased security requirements.
Modules for administrators
User management, logging, action automation and application support for organization administrators with add-on modules.
Visitor Management
Ability to issue temporary smart cards for visitors or outsiders and manage them easily (issue, recycle and deactivate).
Savings and security
Combining the different types of cards and tokens in an organisation into one comprehensive solution. Process automation and ease of use.
Other contactless functions
Micropayments, connection to attendance and meal voucher systems, control of office devices and other scenarios as specified by the organisation.
